Polished Agate Gallets
Agate is any translucent microcrystalline form of silica. Agates tend to be translucent, while jaspers are more opaque and don't allow light to pass through it. Agate and crystalline agate are a fairly staple product from Madagascar.
Our Agate is sourced from across Madagascar and polished in Antananarivo. The material ranges from banded grey and white to dendritic black spotted and fortification features with crystals from clear, white or pale, to bright purple Amethyst.
The majority of material tends to be cut and polished, with very little of the material being left unworked. This is very different from standard Brazilian dyed material as we only supply material with naturally occurring colours as made by the earth!
Our Madagascan Agate is hand selected from the top 20% quality material.
